For all my readers who also happen to know and speak kannada

Kannada language has such a rich heritage that speaking about it will have several blog posts. But, what I want to tell you is about a rare form of music , which has its association with kannada language. The name of the form of music is gamaka, which has become rare now. Pranati, an organisation which is famous for its innovative experiments, is organising a gamaka concert in July 18th at 5  pm at Indian Institute of World culture . The recital is a portion titled  “Shabarigaadanu atithi daasharathi” ( rama coming to shabari’s place ) from “shree ramayana darshanam” written by rashtrakavi kuvempu.

Please do make it to this concert and get a glimpse of how rich our literature and music is !
